This trip is timed to coincide with the Philadelphia Craft Show, the 30th anniversary celebration of the Center for Wood Art, and Craft Now. In addition to attending these wonderful events, the trip will visit a number of private venues. (Limit to 20 guests on a first come basis.)

Cost: $290 Members | $390 Non-Members

Price Includes: One group dinner, one day admission to craft show and museum, receptions at Moore College, and CAW, all visits to galleries and collections and a $100 nonrefundable contribution to JRA
Not included: Transportation to Philadelphia and any local parking (if driving), Hotel for two nights (rooms reserved at convenient Marriott Hotel $179 per nigh for 1-2 guests plus 15.5% tax), Meals except indicated, ground transportation, alcoholic drinks (cash bar at group dinner).

11 AM Arrive in Philadelphia and drop luggage at Marriott Hotel

12:30 PM Philadelphia Craft Show visit

3:30 PM Short cab ride to Moore Center for Art, Craft Now Symposium

4 PM Panel Keynote talk by Abraham Thomas

6:30 PM Reception

Walk to dinner at James (3-4 blocks) Included 3 course menu 

Cab to hotel


Saturday, November 11, 2017

9:30 AM Start with 2-3 collectors/artists for 45 minutes each). We will focus on locales in Center City Philadelphia and also include a stop at the Kimmel Center (where Craft Now Create happens with artist demonstrations) as well other city arts exhibits associated with Craft Now once announced.

Lunch on own

2 PM Wexler Gallery

3 PM Clay Studio

4 PM Moderne (mid century modern furniture) and other local shops

5 PM Center for Wood Art: Executive Director leads tour of collection and special exhibit on Criss Cross: Robyn Horn/Brian Dickerson 

6 PM Reception and Ceremony

7:15 PM group dinners at 3-4 locations provided for sign up (paid on own)


Sunday November 12

10 AM Tour of Clara and Ben Hollander house with collection of ceramics and studio furniture

12 PM Tour of National Museum of American Jewish History (a Smithsonian affiliate with a very interesting exhibition in center city)

2 PM Trip Ends
